Chilcote Primary School

A Rights Respecting School

 Promoting British Values Through Our Curriculum

At Chilcote Primary School we proudly ensure that our children are prepared for life in modern Britain. The Chilcote ethos mirrors the Key British Values of;

  • Promoting Democracy

  • The Rule of Law

  • A Culture of Tolerance

  • The Importance of Individual Liberty

  • Respecting those with Different Faiths and a Respect for All.

We seek to teach and nurture our pupil’s so that they become well rounded citizens who recognise the importance of making a positive contribution to their school community and the world around them. We value the ethnic backgrounds of all pupils and families and undertake a variety of events and lessons to celebrate and explore these alongside other cultures in our country.

We ensure that British Values are introduced, discussed and lived out through the ethos and work of the school. Our engaging curriculum provides a vehicle for enhancing experiences. Our cross curricular approach, assemblies, trips and extra- curricular opportunities provide excellent opportunities to deepen an understanding.

The school further endeavours to ensure that the children are exposed to a wide variety of positive experiences beyond the local community during which British Values are explored. We encourage everyone to value and respect their own and other cultures. We promote fairness, high standards of behaviour and encourage responsibility, care and respect for all. We strive to lay the foundations for a fulfilling life through promoting British Values in our happy, vibrant and inclusive school in which everyone works together to achieve their very best and is valued for their contributions.
